Remember when I went to the Beach?

Some how these photos got lost in the mix over the last few months, but as it's been a gray day here I'd thought I'd bring in a little sunshine. In July we had our annual family gathering in Gulf Shores, AL. Sean and I were lucky enough to be able to spend over a week there this year! Above are some instagram highlights. Can you tell we take the our time at the beach very seriously. Seriously eating donuts, playing dominos, visiting the local Soda Fountain, and seriously enjoying … [Read more...]

Are you following Me?

Follow my blog with Bloglovin! Where has Bloglovin' been all my life? I found out about it at the Influence Conference (I told you you'd be hearing about it for a while) and it has changed the way I keep up with my favorite blogs. I used to save my favorite blogs in different bookmark folders and I would go through them, never knowing if they had been updated or not. Now I have all of my favorites in one place and can see at a glance new posts. Perfect! Head on over the … [Read more...]

The Elder Street Art Market!

Yep, mark your calendars for December 7th, 2013 everyone.  I did it!  I just signed up for a booth at the Elder Street Art Market! Every year my church, Ecclesia Houston, hosts an Art Market at the beginning of December and 20% of all of vendor's profits go to Advent Conspiracy. For the last three years I have gone to this market and walked around wishing I was a part of it, thinking to myself I could totally do this and it would be fun.  I love making art, crafts, jewelry! But I let the … [Read more...]

The Nester’s 31 Day Challenge

I found out about The Nester's 31 Day Challenge while I was at the Influence Conference. I know, where have I been? She gave a challenge to write a blog post on one topic for everyday in October. I've loved finding some new blogs that are doing the challenge and following along with some old favorites. Here are some links to a few of my favorite 31 Day challenges so far: All Glorious Within - Figuring Out the Pieces Green Eggs and Hammes - 31 Days of Life in the Kitchen The Balanced Wife - … [Read more...]

The Influence Conference 2013: Recap (It’s Going to Get Real)

I've been sitting on this post since Monday debating what it was going to become. I was very tempted to just tell you how wonderful the conference was, and that'd be oh so true, but that wouldn't be the whole truth. First of all, if you were wondering what I am talking about, the Influence Network is a fabulous network of Christian women who are striving to use their blogs, small businesses and social media to the glory of God. This past weekend in Indianapolis they hosted a conference … [Read more...]

Almond Spice Cookies (Grain & Dairy Free)

Happy October 1st everyone! I've thoroughly enjoyed seeing everyone's post on social media today about pumpkins and fall weather. This afternoon in Houston it still felt like 93, so not very fall-ish, but we'll get there. When I think of fall I think of the taste of cinnamon and spice. Here is a super simple and delicious spice cookie to help you welcome fall wherever you are, no matter what the temperature. And it's Grain Free and Diary Free to boot! Almond Spice … [Read more...]

The Influence Conference!!!

I'm excited for tomorrow because I'm headed off to the Influence Conference! I've never been to a conference like this before and truthfully I'm excited and super nervous. Excited to meet new people and make new friends, nervous because the introvert inside of me is quaking in my boots. While I'm there, I hope to learn a lot about how to better use my blog, and my love for art and creativity. I'll try to keep you posted, so stay tuned to my Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter for … [Read more...]

What I Learned Making My First Quilt

I've shared a bit about making my first quilt in my last post. Here's the front finished. And here's the back! During the process I learned some key sewing strategies that I hope will help you on your next sewing venture. The Iron is Your Best Friend: Boy, did I learn this fast and hard. All those little triangles seemed like a lot to iron so I started off not ironing the seams open after I finished a row. But after trying to sew two rows together with unopened seams I … [Read more...]
