Influence Conference Link-Up!

I'm so excited! A week from now, I will be in Indianapolis at the 2014 Influence Conference and the Network is doing a link-up to get to know a little more about the attendees. So, to start, here's a bit about me: I'm Sarah Pope of A Sharper Focus. I blog here about the things that move me, like beauty, justice, and living well. I am also a teacher, artist, and graphic designer, and I sell my creations in my Etsy store. I'm passionate about my portrait photography business and love creating … [Read more...]

Shop FashionABLE and Their Third Anniversary Sale!

If you haven't already heard FashionABLE has 30% off their entire stock through tomorrow! They are celebrating their third anniversary of empowering women in Africa to support their families and be a vital part of their local economy. I love their scarves, as I pointed out last year, and they now also have a wonderful line of leather goods. I got to see many of these products in person at the Influence Conference, and the craftsmanship beautiful. The holidays will be here … [Read more...]

Remember when I went to the Beach?

Some how these photos got lost in the mix over the last few months, but as it's been a gray day here I'd thought I'd bring in a little sunshine. In July we had our annual family gathering in Gulf Shores, AL. Sean and I were lucky enough to be able to spend over a week there this year! Above are some instagram highlights. Can you tell we take the our time at the beach very seriously. Seriously eating donuts, playing dominos, visiting the local Soda Fountain, and seriously enjoying … [Read more...]

The Influence Conference!!!

I'm excited for tomorrow because I'm headed off to the Influence Conference! I've never been to a conference like this before and truthfully I'm excited and super nervous. Excited to meet new people and make new friends, nervous because the introvert inside of me is quaking in my boots. While I'm there, I hope to learn a lot about how to better use my blog, and my love for art and creativity. I'll try to keep you posted, so stay tuned to my Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter for … [Read more...]

April’s Trips and Changes

This past April I got to go visit my friend and "neighbor for life," as we call it, Allie, in Chicago! She was my next door neighbor for almost 20 years and is like the awesome little sister I never had. I had never been to Chicago before and really liked it. I was only there for an extended weekend and definitely need to go back and see more. We spent some time in Millennium Park and it snowed big wet fluffy flakes on us. Since it was cold and kind of wet there weren't too many … [Read more...]

The Rest of March

I was able to spend a lot of great time with my family this past March. One of my nephews, Corwin, had his 6th Birthday Party! It was at The Little Gym. If you've never been to a Little Gym, they are pretty cool. There's gymnastics equipment, everything is padded so the kids can bounce around, and for parties they get to play lots of fun games. I'm pretty sure Ian had a blast too. In March by brother also got married! Weston and Danielle had the wedding in Baton Rouge at Mt. Hope … [Read more...]

The Holidays in Review – Part 1

This year the Holiday season seemed to have started earlier than usual for me, and lasted a nice few weeks, which I was more than happy about. I hate it when the Holidays seem to come and go and I don't get to cherish them. We stared celebrating the weekend before I got out from school. A few weeks earlier our brother-in-law, Sean's sister's husband, emailed us offering to fly us up for New Jersey as a gift to Juliana! I know, I couldn't believe it either. It was one of the nicest things … [Read more...]

Summer Vacation – Last Little Bit

Here are the rest of the photos from our vacations to Gulfshores, Alabama, although these photos were taken two totally different places! We went to Fairhope, just north of Gulf Shores, for an afternoon and found this fun place called Dr. Music. I had taken a picture of the outside of the store a few years back, but had never gone inside. To my surprise it wasn't just records and music as I had thought! They also had used books, and vintage suitcases, typewriters, radios, and more … [Read more...]

Pensacola’s Naval Aviation Museum and Fort Pickens Day Trip

One day of our vacation we ventured over to Pensacola to visit the National Naval Aviation Museum with the cousins. They have a wide array of planes and helicopters, an IMAX and simulators and the museum if free! I really liked one exhibit about World War II that featured the inside of a home and stores from the era. I'm kind a sucker for that kind of stuff. You could also take pictures inside the Blue Angel's cockpits, pretty fun, not gonna lie. Here's dad enjoying the vintage … [Read more...]
