I have had so much fun with my Etsy shop so far. I’ve gotten wonderful feedback, great questions and have been able to raise a lot more money than I would have normally been able to give to charity. It still kind of blows my mind when I get a sale from someone across the country!
I’m going to keep a variety of prints and the watercolor print necklaces a constant in the store. But, I also love to make a wide variety of art, crafts, and sewing projects, so I’ve decided I’m going to do a monthly limited quantity flash sale of a small amount of one particular item. I’ll just have a few made, so when they are gone, they’re gone. I’m a sucker for variety (yes, I love sampler plates at restaurants) and this seems like a fun way to add a little more excitement to the shop!
This month’s items are these super cute and comfortable wooden beaded necklaces. They are hand painted and sealed with non toxic materials and strung on soft t-shirt cords. You tie them in the back so their length is adjustable, perfect for kids or adults! They go on sale this Thursday, September 4, so grab one before they’re gone!
Thank you so much to everyone who has made a purchase and supported Living Water International. From May 1 through August 31 we were able to raise $30.00!
Our new cause, starting today, will be Amazima Ministries. I was thinking about how we could help kids going back to school this month, and I thought back to Katie and her amazing ministry that helps empower and educate her community in Uganda. Katie’s book was one of the turning points for me a few years ago that got me thinking and acting on how I could help others. I’d love for Amazima to be one of the organizations I get to give back to. I’ve also decided to set more clear goals for the shop. We will be supporting Amazima with 10% of our profits through November 30, 2014. Our goal over the next three months is to raise at least $100!
